Packing Struggles
I've never been one to pack lightly. And when it comes to packing for living in a country that is colder than your home country for 4 months, it becomes even more of a challenge!
I tried to be as ruthless as I could but warm jumpers and fluffy socks are a necessity! I finished packing the day before the flight was booked and at this stage I had decided it didn't matter if I was over the 15kg allowance (definitely not enough weight!). I needed to pack what I knew I would need and I wanted to ensure my trip was an enjoyable as possible by taking personal treasures.
Checking in my suitcase at Gatwick airport around 6am on Monday 12th February, I decided I may have 'slightly' overpacked to put it mildly...
I ended up having to pay £200 for my excess baggage weight that totalled 24kg, 9kg more than the maximum amount we had requested when we booked the flight. I know I should have looked into my options more originally but hey you learn from your mistakes!
** Turns out I paid for all our excess baggage weight (Christina's as well) so I should have paid £90 and she should have paid £110. I contacted easyJet to find this out.
